14. During the 180th session of the UNESCO Executive Board, held in July 2008, the Director-General reported on the management of extrabudgetary resources and activities, including an update on the UNESCO cost-recovery policy.

Yai (Benin).

The Committee welcomed the UNESCO decision to designate the two members of the Committee on Conventions and Recommendations of the UNESCO Executive Board to take part in the UNESCO/Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Joint Expert Group on the monitoring of the right to education, namely Messrs. Klaus Huefner

This has involved, inter alia, ensuring the functioning of the International Coordination Committee set up by a decision of the UNESCO Executive Board and the functioning of the secretariat of the cultural heritage, media and sports programme entrusted to it by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan.
