Emphasizing that olive cultivation governs the existence and standard of living of millions of families which are dependent on the measures taken to maintain and expand the consumption of olive products and to enhance the world economy for such products,
إذ تؤكد أن زراعة الزيتون يتوقف عليها وجود ومستوى معيشة ملايين من الأسر التي تعتمد على التدابير المتخذة في سبيل المحافظة على استهلاك منتجات الزيتون وزيادته وتعزيز الاقتصاد العالمي لهذه المنتجات،

Emphasizing that olive cultivation governs the existence and standard of living of millions of families which are dependent on the measures taken to maintain and expand the consumption of olive products and to enhance the world economy for such products,
إذ تؤكد أن زراعة الزيتون يتوقف عليها وجود ومستوى معيشة ملايين الأسر التي تعتمد على التدابير المتخذة للمحافظة على استهلاك منتجات الزيتون وزيادته وتعزيز الاقتصاد العالمي لهذه المنتجات،

- To encourage research and development and to foster the transfer of technology and training activities in the olive products sector with the aim, inter alia, of modernising olive growing and the olive products industry and of improving the quality of production;
- تشجيع البحث والتطوير وتعزيز نقل التكنولوجيا وأنشطة التدريب في قطاع منتجات الزيتون، لغايات، منها تحديث زراعة الزيتون وصناعة منتجات الزيتون وتحسين جودة الإنتاج؛

- To promote any activities conducive to the harmonious, sustainable expansion of the world olive products economy by every means in the power of the Organization in the fields of production, consumption and international trade, having regard to the ways in which they are interrelated;
- تشجيع كل نشاط يؤدي إلى التوسيع المتناسق والمستدام لاقتصاد منتجات الزيتون العالمي بكل الوسائل المتاحة للمنظمة في مجالات الإنتاج والاستهلاك والتجارة الدولية، مع أخذ أساليب ترابطها في الحسبان؛

6. " olive products " means all edible olive products, in particular, olive oils, olive-pomace oils and table olives;
6- تعني عبارة " منتجات الزيتون " جميع منتجات الزيتون الصالحة للأكل، وبخاصة زيوت الزيتون وزيوت ثفل الزيتون وزيتون المائدة؛

7. " Olive by-products " means, in particular, the products derived from olive pruning and the olive products industry and the products resulting from alternative uses of the products of the sector;
7- تعني عبارة " منتجات الزيتون الجانبية " بصفة خاصة المنتجات المتخلفة عن تقليم شجر الزيتون وصناعة منتجات الزيتون نتيجة للاستخدامات البديلة لمنتجات هذا القطاع؛

- تشجيع البحث والتطوير وتعزيز نقل التكنولوجيا وأنشطة التدريب في قطاع منتجات الزيتون، لأغراض منها تحديث زراعة الزيتون وصناعة منتجات الزيتون وتحسين جودة الإنتاج؛

- To carry on conducting collaborative activities in the area of physico-chemical and sensory testing in order to add to the knowledge of the composition and quality characteristics of olive products, with a view to establishing international standards enabling:
- مواصلة القيام بأنشطة تعاونية في مجال الفحوصات الفيزيائية - الكيميائية والحسية لتحسين المعرفة بتركيب منتجات الزيتون ومواصفات جودتها، بغية وضع معايير دولية تمكّن مما يلي:

- To lay the foundations of international cooperation to prevent and, where appropriate, to combat any fraudulent practices in international trade in any edible olive products by establishing close cooperative ties in this context with the representatives of the various stakeholders of the olive products sector.
- إرساء أسس التعاون الدولي للحيلولة دون أية ممارسة للغش، ومكافحتها عند الاقتضاء، في التجارة الدولية في أي منتج من منتجات الزيتون الصالحة للأكل، وذلك بإقامة روابط تعاون وثيقة في هذا السياق مع ممثلي مختلف أصحاب المصلحة في قطاع منتجات زيت الزيتون.

- To promote any activities conducive to the harmonious, sustainable expansion of the world olive products economy by every means in the power of the International Olive Council in the fields of production, consumption and international trade, having regard to the ways in which they are interrelated;
- تشجيع أي نشاط يؤدي إلى التوسيع المنسق والمستدام لاقتصاد منتجات الزيتون العالمي بكل الوسائل المتاحة للمجلس الدولي للزيتون في مجالات الإنتاج والاستهلاك والتجارة الدولية، على أن تراعى أساليب ترابطها؛

6. " olive products " means all edible olive products, in particular olive oils, olive-pomace oils and table olives;

7. " Olive by-products " means, in particular, the products derived from olive pruning and the olive products industry and the products resulting from alternative uses of the products of the sector;
7- تعني عبارة " منتجات الزيتون الجانبية " بصفة خاصة المنتجات الناشئة عن تقليم شجر الزيتون وصناعة منتجات الزيتون والمنتجات الناشئة عن الاستخدامات البديلة لمنتجات هذا القطاع؛

The major objectives of the 1993 Agreement cover the following areas: international cooperation and concerted action; modernization of olive cultivation and olive oil extraction; expansion of international trade in olive products; and standardization of international trade in olive products.
٢٣- وتغطي اﻷهداف الرئيسية لاتفاق سنة ٣٩٩١ المجالات التالية: التعاون الدولي والاجراءات المتضافرة؛ وتحديث زراعة الزيتون واستخلاص زيت الزيتون؛ وزيادة التجارة الدولية في منتجات الزيتون؛ وتنميط التجارة الدولية في منتجات الزيتون.

- إرساء أسس التعاون الدولي للحيلولة دون أية ممارسة احتيالية ومكافحتها، عند الاقتضاء، في التجارة الدولية في أي منتج من منتجات الزيتون الغذائية بإقامة روابط تعاون وثيقة مع ممثلي مختلف فروع قطاع منتجات زيت الزيتون الدولي.
