All information accessible to the Special Rapporteur, either in the form of very detailed reports following comprehensive research on the ground or testimony of women inmates in Omdurman prison during his previous visits to Khartoum in 1993, or from individuals who had direct information on this issue, agree that the basic principles of the rule of law in these penal procedures are ignored by the authorities.
