The delegation of the Sudan indicated that the organization had implicated itself in a highly politicized matter contrary to the provisions of Council resolution 1996/31, and had led a politically motivated campaign against her Government when it organized a " briefing on Sudan " on 5 October 2000 " to generate momentum toward denying Sudan a Security Council seat " .
وذكر وفد السودان أن المنظمة أقحمت نفسها في مسألة مسيسة جدا وتتعارض مع أحكام قرار المجلس 1996/31، وقادت حملة ذات دوافع سياسية ضد حكومته عندما نظمت " جلسة إحاطة إعلامية عن السودان " في 5 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2000 " لتوليد زخم يؤدي إلى حرمان السودان من مقعد في مجلس الأمن " .
