Objective: The objective is to provide assistance in intergovernmental policy deliberations on the role of public administration and public finance in the development process and to assist interested Governments of developing countries and countries with economies in transition in strengthening their policy-making, institutional and managerial capacities in those areas.

As part of the United Nations joint effort to implement the recommendations contained in the Report of the Secretary-General on peacebuilding in the immediate aftermath of conflict (A/63/881 - S/2009/304), UNDP is also steering the ongoing work on the role of public administration and local governance in post-conflict environments.
