It is obvious that the aim of those baseless allegations is to divert attention from the real issues prevailing on the island, in particular, the continuation of the all-embracing embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people and the totally negative position adopted by the Greek Cypriot administration vis-à-vis the confidence-building measures of the Turkish Cypriot side.

The international community can act to change this situation and bring stability and sustainable resolution to Cyprus by ending all economic, social and political embargoes that have been unjustly applied on the Turkish Cypriot people since 1963.

وعند الإشارة إلى الحالة الاقتصادية، كانت لدى الوزير القبرصي اليوناني أيضا الجرأة على الزعم بأن الإدارة القبرصية اليونانية " تأخذ في الاعتبار احتياجات قبرص في مجملها " ، بينما يفرض نظامه حالات الحظر المشار إليها أعلاه على الشعب القبرصي التركي.

With regard to the all-important issue of human rights, I wish to stress that the Greek Cypriots are in no position to blame anyone for violating human rights and freedoms in Cyprus, especially at a time when the inhuman Greek Cypriot embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people under the usurped title of the " Government of Cyprus " continues unabated.

As for the false claims regarding the Ercan airport in the North, it should be underlined that the technologically up-to-date Ercan area control centre and airport in North Cyprus have been providing successful and safe air traffic services since the Greek Cypriot refusal in 1977 to provide air traffic services in the northern part of the island in line with its isolation policy imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people.
أما فيما يتعلق بالادعاءات الزائفة بشأن مطار إركان في الشمال، فينبغي التشديد على أن مركز المراقبة الجوية والمطار المتقدمين تكنولوجيا في إركان في شمال قبرص ما فتئا يوفران خدمات الملاحة الجوية المأمونة بنجاح منذ أن رفض الجانب القبرصي اليوناني في عام 1977 توفير خدمات الملاحة الجوية في الجزء الشمالي من الجزيرة تمشيا مع سياسة العزل التي يفرضها على الشعب القبرصي التركي.

The said opinion, inter alia, demonstrates that the unilateral application of the Greek Cypriot administration under the title of the " Government of the Republic of Cyprus " is devoid of any legal basis and cannot be binding on the Turkish Cypriot people or on Cyprus as a whole.
وتبين الفتوى المذكورة بوضوح أن طلب اﻹدارة القبرصية اليونانية من جانب واحد الانضمام تحت اسم " حكومة جمهورية قبرص " لا يستند إلى أي أساس قانوني ولا يمكن أن يكون ملزما للشعب القبرصي التركي أو لقبرص ككل.
