30. In order to avoid such interference, it is helpful to distinguish between the independent undertaking itself and the right of a beneficiary of such an undertaking to receive a payment (or another item of value) due from the guarantor/issuer or nominated person.

For the same reason, if the guarantor/issuer, confirmer or nominated person has a security right in the proceeds under an independent undertaking, their independent rights are not adversely affected (see A/CN.9/631, recommendation 24).
