At its ninth session, the Forum decided that simple voluntary national reporting for the tenth session would focus on the implementation of the non-legally binding instrument on all types of forests and balanced reporting on its four global objectives on forests, and requested the secretariat to that end to develop a streamlined reporting format, in consultation with other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.

34. Also requests the secretariat of the Forum and invites other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests and other key actors to examine the implications on broader forest financing of new and emerging forest-related financing initiatives relating to the three Rio Conventions in order to further promote an integrated approach to sustainable forest management, and invites voluntary contributions to support this work;

(a) To facilitate the implementation of the proposals of the Intergovernmental Panel on Forests/Intergovernmental Forum on Forests for action, by initiating a project, as an activity of the multi-year programme of work of the Forum, in collaboration with other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests, for clustering and further simplifying language, taking into account existing work;

34. In addition to close cooperation with the other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (the Forum secretariat represents the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat in this voluntary partnership), more interaction could be desirable with the governing bodies of multilateral agreements and other members of the Collaborative Partnership.
34 - وبالإضافة إلى التعاون الوثيق مع الأعضاء الآخرين في الشراكة التعاونية في مجال الغابات (تمثل أمانة منتدى الأمم المتحدة المعني بالغابات إدارة الشؤون الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التابعة للأمانة العامة للأمم المتحدة في هذه الشراكة الطوعية)، فإن تحقيق مزيد من التفاعل بين هيئات إدارات الاتفاقات المتعددة الأطراف والأعضاء الآخرين في الشراكة التعاونية في مجال الغابات أمر مرغوب فيه.

In consultation with FAO and with other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests, the secretariat will prepare guidelines for streamlined national reporting for the Forum's tenth session;

43. Several other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests are actively helping to build national capacity for data collection, processing and reporting and to assist in improving in-country coordination for reporting to different processes and instruments.

23. Welcomes the joint initiative by the International Union of Forest Research Organizations, the Center for International Forestry Research and the International Center for Research in Agroforestry, in collaboration with other members of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests, on science and technology in support of the Forum by assessing available information and producing reports on forests-related issues of concern to the Forum;
