The delegation of parliamentarians and women's non-governmental organizations from Tajikistan attending the UNIFEM-organized regional consultation on best practices in drafting and enforcing gender equality laws, in 2004, subsequently conducted extensive advocacy work to lobby for a draft law on equal rights and opportunities, which was adopted by the Parliament of Tajikistan in 2005.
