There is established an International Criminal Court ( " the Court " ), which shall have the power to bring persons to justice for the most serious crimes of international concern, and which shall be complementary to national criminal jurisdictions.

As the importance attached to the Court's work and the relevance of the Rome Statute on the international scene grow, great challenges remain. Arrest warrants are outstanding against a total of 11 suspects, and the cooperation of States in bringing these persons to justice continues to be a key condition for the effective implementation of the Court's mandate.
وفي الوقت الذي يحظى فيه عمل المحكمة ونظامهما الأساسي بأهمية على الساحة الدولية، لا تزال هناك أوامر بإلقاء القبض صادرة بشأن ما مجموعه 11 مشتبها فيه معلَّقة، ولا يزال تعاون الدول في تقديم هؤلاء الأشخاص إلى العدالة شرطا رئيسيا في التنفيذ الفعال لولاية المحكمة.

Mr. AL-CHEIKH (Syrian Arab Republic) said that his delegation also wished to see the reference to The Hague included in article 3 and the whole of Part 1 forwarded to the Drafting Committee, subject to some amendment to the wording of the first part of article 1 in the Arabic version, in which the term used for bringing persons to justice was too restrictive.
٨٩ - السيد الشيخ )الجمهورية العربية السورية( : قال إن وفده يود أيضا أن يجد اﻹشارة إلى لاهاي مدرجة في المادة ٣ وأن يحال الباب ١ كله إلى لجنة الصياغة ، مع مراعاة بعض التعديلات المدخلة على صياغة الجزء اﻷول من المادة ١ في النسخة العربية ، التي كانت العبارة المستخدمة فيها من أجل تقديم اﻷشخاص إلى المحاكمة حصرية للغاية .

The Arabic phrase used to translate the English phrase “to bring persons to justice” meant to present persons to court.
فالعبارة العربية المستخدمة لترجمة العبارة الانكليزية " to bring persons to justice " تعني " تقديم اﻷشخاص الى المحاكمة " .
