In resolution 57/169, entitled " High-level political conference for the purpose of signing the United Nations convention against corruption " , which was adopted on 18 December 2002, the General Assembly accepted with appreciation the offer made by the Government of Mexico to host a high-level political conference for the purpose of signing the convention and requested the Secretary-General to schedule the event by the end of 2003.
وفي القرار 57/169 المعنون " عقد مؤتمر سياسي رفيع المستوى للتوقيع على اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الفساد " الذي اتخذته الجمعية العامة في 18 كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2002، قبلت الجمعية العامة، مع التقدير، العرض المقدم من حكومة المكسيك لاستضافة مؤتمر سياسي رفيع المستوى لغرض التوقيع على الاتفاقية. وطلبت إلى الأمين العام أن يحدد موعدا لانعقاد هذا الحدث قبل نهاية عام 2003.

12. In its resolution 54/129 of 17 December 1999, the General Assembly accepted with appreciation the offer of the Government of Italy to host a High-level Political Signing Conference at Palermo for the purpose of signing the convention and protocols thereto and requested the Secretary-General to schedule the Signing Conference for a period of up to one week before the end of the Millennium Assembly in 2000.

The European Union reiterates its high appreciation for the offer made by the Government of Mexico to host a high-level political conference for the purpose of signing the convention in Merida from 9 to 11 December and sincerely hopes the maximum number of States will sign the convention on that occasion.
ويكرر الاتحاد الأوروبي مجددا عظيم تقديره للعرض الذي قدمته حكومة المكسيك لاستضافة مؤتمر سياسي رفيع المستوى بغرض التوقيع على الاتفاقية في ميريدا من 9 إلى 11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر ويأمل بصدق أن يوقع أكبر عدد ممكن من الدول على الاتفاقية في تلك المناسبة.
