In resolution 57/218, the General Assembly reaffirmed the responsibility of Governments to safeguard and protect the rights of migrants against illegal or violent acts, in particular acts of racial discrimination and crimes perpetrated with racist or xenophobic motivation, and reaffirmed emphatically the duty of States parties to the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 19632 to ensure full respect for and observance of the Convention.
3 - وفي القرار 57/218، أكدت الجمعية العامة مجددا مسؤولية الحكومات عن ضمان وحماية حقوق المهاجرين من الأفعال غير المشروعة أو أعمال العنف، ولا سيما أفعال التمييز العنصري والجرائم المرتكبة بدافع عنصري أو بدافع كراهية الأجانب، وأكدت من جديد وبشدة أن من واجب الدول الأطراف في اتفاقية فيينا للعلاقات القنصلية لعام 1963() كفالة الاحترام الكامل والمراعاة التامة للاتفاقية.
