16. By note verbale No. GENC 011-115 of 6 August 1997 the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations Office at Geneva replied to the Special Rapporteur's letter of 4 June 1997 as follows:
٦١ - وقدمت البعثة الدائمة لفنلندا لدى مكتب اﻷمم المتحدة في جنيف ردا على رسالة المقرر الخاص المؤرخة ٤ حزيران/يونيه ٧٩٩١ بمذكرة شفوية رقم GENC 011-115 مؤرخة ٦ آب/أغسطس ٧٩٩١، وأكدت فيها ما يلي:

The Government asked the Special Rapporteurs to note that Mr. Stephanian did not mention anything, as stated in the Special Rapporteur's letter, regarding the fact that some State representatives requested various documents from PMMG.

105. On 24 June 1999, the Government sent a letter in reply to the Special Rapporteur's letter of 14 December 1998 concerning the case of Mr. Li Bifeng.

There is no report to suggest that a'Muslim cleric'said to be named as Moulana Amini and'an Islamic Party Leader'identified as Azharul Islam had made such remarks as alleged in the annexure to the Special Rapporteur's letter.

With regard to the remaining persons referred to in the Special Rapporteur's letter, the Government stated that three of the names did not appear to be correct and the remaining four had in fact not been involved in the killings at Naniachar.

On 4 October 1994, the Government acknowledged receipt of the Special Rapporteur's letter containing the allegations mentioned in paragraph 238 above.

14. By a note verbale dated 30 July 1997 the Permanent Mission of Ecuador to the United Nations Office at Geneva replied to the various questions contained in the Special Rapporteur's letter of 4 June 1997 (see para. 6) as follows:

In his reply to the Special Rapporteur's letter of 15 August 1994, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that, since these two persons were Croatian citizens fit for military service, they had the rights and duties provided for in the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia and the Law on Defence, which duties included military service.

The Government replied on 8 October 2004 stating that a reference in the Special Rapporteur's letter to Commission resolution 2000/58 was " bewildering and inappropriate " because the Government had " never considered [itself] to be bound " by that resolution.

In a letter dated 1 April 2011, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea responded by rejecting the allegations and stressing that the information contained in the Special Rapporteur's letter was based on fabrications and plots of forces hostile to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

108. With regard to Pa Mathias Gwei, Samuel Tita, Zacharia Khan and others arrested following the incidents of March 1997, referred to in the Special Rapporteur's letter of the current year, the Government did not furnish any further information concerning the persons mentioned in 1997.
