It is recalled that, in response to General Assembly resolution 42/224 of 21 December 1987, in which the Secretary-General was requested to report at least once every two years on the rates of reimbursement to the Governments of troop-contributing States, the Secretary-General submitted a report to the General Assembly at its forty-seventh session (A/47/776).

(b) The report of the Secretary-General, dated 3 April 2002, on the review of rates of reimbursement to the Governments of troop-contributing States (A/57/774), falls significantly short of the request contained in paragraph 8 of General Assembly resolution 55/274 of 14 June 2001, as it adds isolated new variables to the methodology without detailed explanation;

In his report on the review of the rates of reimbursement to the Governments of troop-contributing States to the General Assembly at its fifty-seventh session (A/57/774), the Secretary-General proposed a methodology and submitted a proposal for the periodicity of the review of the rates of reimbursement and a questionnaire.

49. Turning, finally, to the Advisory Committee's report on the review of the rates of reimbursement to the Governments of troop-contributing States (A/50/1012), he pointed out that the results of the survey and the corresponding data referred to in document A/48/912 dated back to 1992-1993.
