In its resolution 54/82 B of 6 December 1999, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to the Committee on Information at its twenty-second session, in 2000, and to the General Assembly at its fifty-fifth session, in 2000, on the activities of the Department of Public Information and on the implementation of the recommendations contained therein.

1. In its resolution 59/126/B of 10 December 2004, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to the Committee on Information at its twenty-seventh session and to the General Assembly at its sixtieth session on the activities of the Department of Public Information and on the implementation of the recommendations contained in that resolution.
1 - طلبت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 126/باء المؤرخ 10 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2004، إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إلى لجنة الإعلام في دورتها السابعة والعشرين، وإلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الستين، تقريرا عن أنشطة إدارة شؤون الإعلام، وعن تنفيذ التوصيات الواردة في هذا القرار.

51. Encourages the Department of Public Information to continue to work within the United Nations Communications Group to coordinate the preparation and implementation of communication strategies with the heads of information of the agencies, funds and programmes of the United Nations system, and requests the Secretary-General to report to the Committee on Information at successive sessions on the activities of the Group;

1. The General Assembly, in paragraph 15 of its resolution 51/138 B of 13 December 1996, called upon the Secretary-General to submit a report to the Committee on Information on an evaluation of the United Nations information centres.
١ - دعت الجمعية العامة في الفقرة ١٥ من قرارها ٥١/١٣٨ باء المؤرخ ١٣ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٦، اﻷمين العام الى تقديم تقرير الى لجنة اﻹعلام عن تقييم مراكز اﻷمم المتحدة لﻹعلام.

7. Requests the management of the Department of Public Information to review the Department's publications and proposals for publications to ensure that all publications fulfil an identifiable need, that they do not duplicate other publications inside or outside the United Nations system and that they are produced in a cost-effective manner, and to report to the Committee on Information at its eighteenth session;
