In its recommendation 7/4 of 12 August 2011, the Advisory Committee assigned the preparation of the study on rural women and the right to food to the drafting group on the right to food comprising José Bengoa Cabello, Chinsung Chung, Latif Hüseynov, Jean Ziegler (until August 2012) and Mona Zulficar.

75. In resolution 19/7, the Council also took note of the concept note of the Advisory Committee for the preliminary study on rural women and the right to food, and requested the Committee to continue to undertake a comprehensive study in that regard.

19. At its 6th meeting, on 8 August 2012, the Advisory Committee discussed the preliminary study on rural women and the right to food (A/HRC/AC/9/5).

At its 8th meeting, held on 10 August 2012, the Advisory Committee, recalling Human Rights Council resolution 19/7 of March 2012, took note of the preliminary study on rural women and the right to food (A/HRC/AC/9/5) and requested the drafting group to finalize it in light of the discussions held by the Committee at its ninth session, with a view to submitting it to the Human Rights Council at its twenty-second session.

33. At its 6th meeting, on 22 February, the Advisory Committee, pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 16/27, held a discussion on the concept note for the preliminary study on rural women and the right to food (A/HRC/AC/8/CRP.2).
