The latest such guidance can be found in annex II of resolution 48/264, in which the Assembly stipulated that, as of the forty-ninth session, the Main Committee Chairs shall be elected from among one representative from each regional group, and that the sixth chairmanship shall rotate over a period of 20 sessions, according to a rotational pattern, from among the African, Asian and Latin American and Caribbean States.
