The Cameroon-based Subregional Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa was being strengthened and a Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab region was planned in Qatar.
وأضافت أنه يجري تعزيز المركز دون الإقليمي لحقوق الإنسان والديمقراطية في أفريقيا الوسطى الموجود في الكاميرون، ومن المعتزم إنشاء مركز للتدريب والتوثيق في مجال حقوق الإنسان لخدمة جنوب غرب آسيا والمنطقة العربية يكون مقره في قطر.

It was working closely with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to take the final steps for establishing the United Nations Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and the Arab region in Qatar.

The Centre will encourage broad participation of countries of South-West Asia and the Arab region to participate in its activities, both of a regional and/or country-specific nature.

29. The visibility of OHCHR in South-West Asia and the Arab region has been greatly strengthened as a result of OHCHR interventions in relation to the human rights situation in the region.
٢٩ - تعززت بقدر كبير صورة مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان في جنوب غرب آسيا والمنطقة العربية نتيجة لتدخلات المفوضية في ما يتصل بحالة حقوق الإنسان في المنطقة.

22. OHCHR and the host country encourage other countries, from the area and beyond, to contribute to the funding of the Centre so that it can rapidly become an institution of reference in the field of human rights training and documentation, benefiting the people of South-West Asia and the Arab region.
22 - وتشجع المفوضية والبلد المضيف سائر البلدان، من المنطقة ومن خارجها، على المساهمة في تمويل المركز حتى يتمكن من التحول بسرعة إلى مؤسسة مرجعية في ميدان التدريب والتوثيق في مجال حقوق الإنسان، بما يعود بالنفع على شعوب جنوب غرب آسيا والمنطقة العربية.

Also welcome the offer of the Government of Qatar to host in Doha a United Nations human rights centre for human rights for South-West Asia and the Arab region in order to support the development of national human rights capacities and infrastructure and to promote human rights along with other existing offices, and institutions in the region;
7- يرحبون أيضاً، بالعرض الذي قدمته حكومة قطر بأن تستضيف في الدوحة مركزاً للأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان في جنوب غرب آسيا والمنطقة العربية من أجل دعم تطوير القدرات والهياكل الأساسية الوطنية في ميدان حقوق الإنسان ودعم حقوق الإنسان، إلى جانب المكاتب والمؤسسات الأخرى الموجودة في المنطقة والمعنية بحقوق الإنسان؛

In paragraph 5 of its resolution 67/162, the Assembly requested: " ... the Secretary-General to provide funds and human resources from the regular budget of the United Nations, beginning in the biennium 2014-2015, to enable the Centre to respond positively and effectively to the growing needs in South-West Asia and the Arab region, to fulfil its mandate ... " .
وقد طلبت الجمعية، في الفقرة 5 من قرارها 67/162، إلى " الأمين العام أن يوفر من الميزانية العادية للأمم المتحدة، اعتبارا من فترة السنتين 2014-2015، الأموال والموارد البشرية اللازمة لتمكين المركز من تلبية الاحتياجات المتزايدة في جنوب غرب آسيا والمنطقة العربية بصورة إيجابية وفعالة من الوفاء بولايته ... " .
