The Action Team made three recommendations that, if implemented, would contribute to optimizing access to and use of current and future space-based services for disaster management.

Building capacity and strengthening institutions at all levels are the key to increasing the ability of organizations and individuals to effectively use space-based services for disaster reduction, preparedness, response and recovery.

In this connection, the Regional Preparatory Conference for Asia and the Pacific recommends that such entities as INTELSAT, Inmarsat and other space communications entities should provide communications satellite capacity with the aim of promoting regional space-based services.
