(c) Expedite the adoption of the draft law on legal aid, aimed at unifying the provision of free legal aid in the State party in order to facilitate access to justice for all women, in particular those belonging to disadvantaged groups.

The Committee also notes the efforts made by the State party in order to achieve MDG 2 (primary education for all) and MDG 3 (gender parity).
كما تلاحظ اللجنة الجهود التي بذلتها الدولة الطرف بغية تحقيق الهدف الثاني من الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية (حصول جميع الأطفال، إناثاً وذكوراً، على التعليم الابتدائي المجاني) والهدف الثالث (التكافؤ بين الجنسين).

The Committee also expresses its appreciation at the State party's thorough responses to the list of issues in written form (CAT/C/LVA/Q/2/Add.1) which provided additional information on the legislative, administrative, judicial and other measures taken by the State party in order to prevent acts of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

With respect to article 5 of the Convention, while the Committee notes with satisfaction the extensive measures taken by the State party in order to improve the overall situation of gypsies, it is concerned about the difficulties still faced by a large part of them in the fields of employment, housing and education, as well as about reported cases of discrimination in daily life.
