Background: The COP, by its decision 1/CP.16, decided to establish a Technology Mechanism, comprising a Technology Executive Committee (TEC) and a Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), and decided that the TEC and the CTCN shall report, on an interim basis, to the COP, through the subsidiary bodies, on their respective activities and the performance of their respective functions.
