In this respect, the Committee noted with satisfaction that the Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Latin America and the Caribbean had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Office for Outer Space Affairs, through which the Centre had become affiliated to the United Nations.

It was noted that the Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Latin America and the Caribbean had been established in 1997 through an intergovernmental agreement between the Governments of Brazil and Mexico.
