The Secretariat also facilitated the organizsation of the sSeventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Abidjan Convention meeting between December 2004 and February 2005 in consultation with the secretariat of the Abidjan Cconvention.

The following States have been elected members of the WACAF Steering Committee of the Action Plan by the third meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Abidjan Convention: Ghana (Chairman), Gambia and Guinea (Vice-Chairmen), Cape Verde and Namibia (Rapporteurs), Angola, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Mauritania and Sao Tome and Principe.

Lastly, the support from institutions with a regional scope such as the Abidjan Convention or the peace and cooperation zone of the South Atlantic was deemed very important, especially in the coordination of capacity-building activities at the national levels, the integration of assessments at the subregional level and the development of South-South cooperation mechanisms in the South Atlantic region.
