The Council further wished to reiterate its conviction that a reduction in tensions between the Governments of the Sudan and Chad is essential for lasting regional security and to call on both Governments to abide by their obligations under the Dakar Agreement of 13 March 2008, the Tripoli Agreement of 8 February 2006 and other bilateral agreements.

4- تحيط اللجنة علماً بالمبادرات السياسية المشجعة التي ترمي إلى إخراج البلد من الأزمة، ولا سيما التوقيع على اتفاق السلام بين الحكومة ومجموعات المعارضة المسلحة التشادية الرئيسية في 25 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2007، وإجراءات تطبيع العلاقات بين تشاد والسودان على النحو الذي يقضي به اتفاق داكار المؤرخ 13 آذار/مارس 2008.
