The Government of the Republic of Yemen is pleased to provide clarifications in response to the distinguished Committee's questions and, in this regard, wishes to highlight the following points.

The Government of the Republic of Yemen welcomes the distinguished Committee's positive comments on the spirit of constructive cooperation and understanding which characterized the discussions and interventions on both sides and its acknowledgement of the country's significant achievements in promoting human rights and raising human rights standards.
وإذ ترحب الحكومة اليمنية بالملاحظات الإيجابية التي انتهت إليها اللجنة الموقرة والمعبرة عن روح التعاون والتفاهم الإيجابيين اللذين سادا جلسات النقاش والمداخلات من الجانبين، واستيعاب اللجنة مجمل الإنجازات الهامة التي شهدتها البلاد في سبيل تعزيز حقوق الإنسان والارتقاء بها إلى المستوى المنشود.

Yemen welcomes the distinguished Committee's positive comments on the spirit of cooperation and understanding which characterized the discussions between, and the interventions of, the two sides, together with its acknowledgement of all the important achievements that Yemen has scored in promoting human rights and raising human rights standards to the desired level.
وإذ ترحب الحكومة اليمنية بالملاحظات الإيجابية التي انتهت إليها اللجنة الموقرة والمعبرة عن مستوى التعاون والتفاهم الذي ساد جلسات النقاش ومداخلات الجانبين، واستيعاب اللجنة مجمل الإنجازات الهامة التي شهدتها البلاد في سبيل تعزيز حقوق الإنسان والارتقاء بها إلى المستوى المنشود.

It also wishes the distinguished Committee every success in pursuing its lofty mission on behalf of all mankind.
كما ترجو مصر في ذات الوقت للجنة الموقرة كل النجاح والتوفيق في أداء رسالتها الغالية على البشرية جمعاء.

262. While submitting this report to the distinguished Committee, Egypt wishes to express its readiness to reply to any questions that might be raised by the experts on the Committee and to provide the Committee with any information that it might request.
٢٦٢- وإذ ترفع مصر تقريرها هذا للجنة الموقرة فإنها على استعداد للرد على كافة اﻷسئلة والاستفسارات التي يبديها السادة الخبراء باللجنة، وكذلك لتزويد اللجنة الموقرة بكافة ما تطلبه من معلومات.

5. In accordance with article 9 of the Convention, Egypt submitted its combined thirteenth to sixteenth periodic reports, which were considered by the distinguished Committee at its 1484th and 1485th sessions, held on 10 and 13 August 2001.
5- وإنفاذاً للمادة 9 من الاتفاقية قدمت مصر التقرير الدوري الجامع للتقارير من الثالث عشر وحتى السادس عشر، والذي تمت مناقشته أمام اللجنة الموقرة في الجلستين 1484 و485 المنعقدتين في 10 و13 آب/أغسطس 2001.

III. Reply to the recommendations made by the distinguished Committee following its consideration of Egypt's previous reports.
الثالث: الرد على التوصيات الصادرة عن اللجنة الموقرة حول مناقشة التقارير السابقة لمصر.

In submitting this report to the distinguished Committee, Egypt reiterates its ongoing willingness to reply to all of the Committee's questions concerning the implementation of the provisions of the Covenant forming the subject of this report. Egypt also wishes the Committee enduring success in its exalted mission on behalf of all mankind.
وإذ ترفع مصر إلى اللجنة الموقرة هذا التقرير المدمج، فإنها تعاود التأكيد على استعدادها المستمر للرد على كافة استفسارات اللجنة الموقرة حول تنفيذ أحكـام العهد الدولي الماثل، وترجو للجنة دوام التوفيق والنجاح في مهمتها الغالية تجاه البشرية جمعاء. تمهيـد

Our country has pleasure in presenting the distinguished Committee with its combined fifteenth and sixteenth periodic reports elucidating the points raised in the Committee's concluding observations.
2- ويسر بلادنا أن تتقدم إلى اللجنة الموقرة بتقريرها الدوري الخامس عشر على نحو مشترك مع تقريرها الدوري السادس عشر اللذين يوضحان النقاط التي تم إثارتها في المـلاحظات الختامية للجنـة .

3. Yemen has the honour to present the distinguished Committee with some clarifications regarding the recommendations contained in paragraph 7 (d) and (f) of the concluding observations issued in accordance with article 19 of Convention.
3- يسرها أن تتقدم إلى اللجنة الموقرة بإيضاحات حول التوصيات الصادرة عن اللجنة في الفقرة (7)(د) و(و) طبقا للمادة 19 من الاتفاقية.

298. In submitting its report, Egypt conveys it wishes to the distinguished Committee for continuing success in discharging the immense tasks entrusted to it. Egypt also stands fully ready to reply to all questions on the matters covered in this report.
298- وإذ ترفع مصر تقريرها إلى اللجنة الموقرة فإنها لترجو للجنة دوام التوفيق والنجاح في المهام العظام الملقاة على عاتقها، كما وأن مصر على استعداد تام للرد على كافة الاستفسارات أو الأسئلة حول ما شمله هذا التقرير من موضوعات.

In submitting its second periodic report, Qatar reaffirms its complete readiness to cooperate with the distinguished Committee and to reply to any queries or requests for clarification concerning the implementation of the Convention. Qatar wishes the Committee continuing success in its efforts to prevent torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
وإن دولة قطر إذ ترفع إلى اللجنة الموقرة هذا التقرير الدوري الثاني، فإنها تؤكد استعدادها التام للتعاون معها في الرد على أية استفسارات أو استيضاحات تتعلق بتنفيذ أحكام الاتفاقية، وترجو دولة قطر للجنة دوام التوفيق والنجاح في عملها المتعلق بمناهضة التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة.

2. The Government of Yemen welcomes the distinguished Committee's positive comments about the spirit of constructive cooperation and collaboration which characterized the meetings and interventions made by both sides, together with its acknowledgement of the significant progress which Yemen has made towards strengthening human rights and raising human rights standards.
2- وإذ ترحب الحكومة اليمنية بالملاحظات الإيجابية التي انتهت إليها اللجنة الموقرة والمعبرة عن روح التعاون والتفاهم الإيجابيين اللذين سادا جلسات النقاش والمداخلات من الجانبين، واستيعاب اللجنة مجمل الإنجازات الهامة التي شهدتها البلاد في سبيل تعزيز حقوق الإنسان والارتقاء بها إلى المستوى المنشود.

263. Finally, Egypt wishes the distinguished Committee every success in its enormous tasks, hoping that its diligent endeavours will ensure a decent life for mankind as a whole.
٣٦٢- وختاماً، فإن مصر لترجو للجنة الموقرة التوفيق والنجاح في مهامها الجسيمة وأن تتحقق بفضل جهودها ومتابعتها الحياة الكريمة لﻹنسانية جمعاء.

The State of Bahrain wishes the distinguished Committee continued success in the discharge of its functions and, in its future reports, will endeavour to provide additional information so that the Committee can continue to monitor the achievements made in regard to the protection of the rights of the child.

38- تحيل مصر بشأن هذا البند إلى ما ورد بالتقرير السابق لمصر أمام اللجنة الموقرة وتضيف إليها المواثيق الدولية لحقوق الإنسان التي انضمت إليها مصر خلال الفترة التي يغطيها التقرير، وهي:

Qatar is honoured to submit this report to the Committee against Torture in accordance with article 19, paragraph 1, of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment and in line with the guidelines and general recommendations issued by the distinguished Committee.
تتشرف دولة قطر بأن ترفع هذا التقرير إلى لجنة مناهضة التعذيب، وذلك عملاً بنص الفقرة 1 من المادة 19 من اتفاقية مناهضة التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة، والتزاماً بالخطوط الاسترشادية الصادرة عن اللجنة الموقرة وتوصياتها العامة.

In conformity with the distinguished Committee's guidelines and general instructions and the amendments thereto, the report shall consist of three parts. Part I contains general information about the State party, part II a commentary on articles 1 to 27 of the Covenant, and part III Egypt's reply to the Committee's requests for information arising from its consideration of Egypt's second periodic report.
