وقد حثت البلدان النامية والمجتمع المدني على رفع مستوى وضع هذه الهيئة لكي تصبح هيئة تابعة للأمم المتحدة، وهي خطوة قد يود اجتماع الدوحة أن ينظر فيها بصورة جدية " .

In that regard, three major international conferences held over the past year yielded encouraging results in terms of commitments for development cooperation. the Doha meeting on trade, the Monterrey Conference on financing for development and the Johannesburg summit on sustainable development reached consensus on a number of targets and undertakings.

In accordance with its obligation to the peaceful settlement of disputes as set forth in the Charter of the United Nations, the United Arab Emirates calls on the Islamic Republic of Iran to resume negotiations between the two countries on the basis of the elements proposed by the United Arab Emirates at the Abu Dhabi meeting of 27 and 28 September 1992 and the Doha meeting of 18 to 21 November 1995.
