129. The Committee recommended to the General Assembly that it initiate a comprehensive review of the norms and standards of productivity in the language services in the light of ongoing technological innovations in their work.

The Committee recalls, in this regard, that the General Assembly, in successive resolutions on the pattern of conferences, has requested the Secretary-General to take measures aimed at decreasing vacancy rates in the language services in Nairobi (see, inter alia, resolutions 63/248, 64/230 and 65/245).
