Activities in the mineral resources sector will focus on strengthening the formulation of policies and strategies in the sustainable development of land and mineral resources, including promotion of investment, application of geological aspects in land use and urban planning, and integrated marine policies and assessment and development of non-living marine resources.

60. On a positive note, the United Nations Development Account has pledged $641,000 to fund a project to improve production linkages in the mineral resources sector between the Economic Community of Central African States member States, and the SUC work on the UNCTAD Trust Fund Project on Iron Ore Information remains valuable and well supported by donors.
