Treaties such as the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (articles 13 and 16-18) and the United Nations Convention against Corruption (articles 44-46) have provisions on extradition, transfer of sentenced persons and mutual legal assistance that closely reflect many of the approaches of the model treaties.

22- ويمكن لأحكام اتفاقية الجريمة المنظَّمة وغيرها من الاتفاقات المتعدِّدة الأطراف، مثل اتفاقية مكافحة الفساد، وكذلك للصكوك غير الملزمة، مثل المعاهدات النموذجية بشأن التسليم وتبادل المساعدة في المسائل الجنائية، أن تؤدِّي دوراً محوريًّا في مناسقة الالتزامات ومعالجة الثغرات القانونية.

16. Invites Member States to provide input to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime concerning the model treaties on international cooperation in criminal matters, in particular addressing the question of the necessity of updating or revising them and the prioritization of such updating or revising;
