It is important that States exchange views in order to increase understanding of issues arising from the application of article 76 of the Convention and the application of Annex II on the Statement of Understanding Concerning a Specific Method to be Used in Establishing the outer edge of the Continental Margin, thus facilitating the preparation of submissions by States, in particular developing States, to the Commission.
