It is hoped that the parties, having taken these first steps towards normalization of the situation in Prevlaka, will adopt the practical options proposed by UNMOP to reduce tension further and to promote an atmosphere conducive to the restoration of the full economic and tourist potential of the area.

2. Welcomes steps undertaken by the parties in adopting the practical options proposed by United Nations military observers to reduce tension and improve safety and security in the area, and calls upon the parties to make further progress in this regard;
٢ - يرحب بالخطوات التي اتخذها الطرفان باعتمادهما الخيارات العملية التي اقترحها مراقبو اﻷمم المتحدة العسكريون للتخفيف من التوتر وتحسين اﻷمـن والسلامة في المنطقة ويدعـو الطرفيـن إلى تحقيق المزيد من التقدم في هذا السياق؛

2. Welcomes steps undertaken by the parties in adopting the practical options proposed by United Nations military observers to reduce tension and improve safety and security in the area, and calls upon the parties to make further progress in this regard;

With respect to the maintenance of the interim arrangements referred to in Article 21.3, document A/AC.237/86, " Issues to be addressed by the Committee: a preliminary overview " , at paragraph 31 suggests that the practical options for recommendation by the Committee to the COP would include:
٩٣- أما بصدد استمرار الترتيبات المؤقتة المشار اليها في المادة ١٢-٣، فإن الوثيقة A/AC.237/86)( المعنونة " قضايا يتعين نظر اللجنة فيها: صورة عامة أولية " ، تشير في فقرتها ١٣ الى أن الخيارات العملية التي يمكن أن توصي اللجنة مؤتمر اﻷطراف بها تشمل ما يلي:

Report of the Secretary-General dated 14 April on UNMOP (S/1997/311) submitted pursuant to Security Council resolution 1093 (1997) and describing progress made in implementing the practical options proposed by the United Nations military observers in May 1996 for the improvement of safety and security in the area.
تقرير اﻷمين العام المؤرخ ١٤ نيسان/أبريل عن بعثة اﻷمم المتحدة في بريفلاكا )S/1997/311( والمقدم عملا بقرار مجلس اﻷمن ١٠٩٣ )١٩٩٧( والذي يصف التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ الخيارات العملية التي اقترحها مراقبو اﻷمم المتحدة العسكريون في أيار/ مايو ١٩٩٦ من أجل تحسين السلامة واﻷمن في المنطقة.

The Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has accepted the invitation of the Security Council in resolution 1119 (1997) and has adopted almost all the practical options proposed by the United Nations military observers related to their security and freedom of movement, as well as to security in the area of Prevlaka as a whole.
وقد قبلت الحكومة الاتحادية لجمهورية يوغوسلافيا الاتحادية الدعوة الموجهة من مجلس اﻷمن في قراره ١١١٩ )١٩٩٧( واعتمدت تقريبا كل الخيارات العملية التي اقترحها مراقبو اﻷمم المتحدة العسكريون فيما يتعلق بكفالة أمنهم وحريتهم في التنقل، واﻷمن في منطقة بريفلاكا بأكملها.

These steps are among the practical options that were proposed by UNMOP in May 1996, as part of the procedures to reduce tension and improve safety and security in the area (see S/1996/502, para. 7).

4. Since the adoption of Security Council resolution 1093 (1997), the parties have made no progress towards adopting the practical options that are part of the procedures proposed by UNMOP in May 1996 to reduce tension and improve safety and security in the area.
٤ - منذ اعتماد قرار مجلس اﻷمن ١٠٩٣ )١٩٩٧(، لم يحرز الطرفان أي تقدم صوب اعتماد الخيارات العملية التي تؤلف جزءا من اﻹجراءات التي اقترحتها بعثة مراقبي اﻷمم المتحدة في بريفلاكا في أيار/مايو ١٩٩٦ لتخفيف حدة التوتر وتحسين السلامة واﻷمن في المنطقة.

7. In my report of 14 April 1997, I stated that the parties had made no progress towards adopting the practical options that are part of the procedures proposed by UNMOP in May 1996 to reduce tension and improve safety and security in the area (see S/1997/311, para. 4).
