At its sixtieth session, the General Assembly, in its resolution 60/252, requested the Council to oversee the system-wide follow-up of the Geneva and Tunis outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society, namely, the Declaration of Principles and the Plan of Action, and the Tunis Commitment and the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society (see also Council resolution 2006/46).
