8- فقد جاء في توطئة الدستور أنّ الشعب التونسي متمسّك بالقيم الإنسانية ومبادئ حقوق الإنسان الكونيّة السّامية وأنّ الدولة تضمن علويّة القانون واحترام الحرّيّات وحقوق الإنسان.

It also urged all States to which lawful extradition requests had been made to hand over the perpetrators of crimes against the Tunisian people so that they could face the courts in fair trials with safeguards for the rights of the defence in line with international instruments.
وقال إن تونس تحث أيضا جميع الدول التي قُدمت إليها طلبات التسليم القانوني لمرتكبي الجرائم ضد الشعب التونسي حتى يمكن أن يقدموا إلى المحاكم في محاكمات عادلة تتوافر لها ضمانات لحقوق الدفاع وفقا للصكوك الدولية.

79. The revolution in Tunisia had laid bare some painful realities such as corruption and unemployment, but it had also shown the Tunisian people's high level of political and social awareness and their aspiration for well being and social equity.
