The current authorized staffing of the United Nations component of the Mission consists of 116 staff, comprising 32 international staff, headed by a Deputy Executive Director and Chief of Section on Judicial Affairs and Institution-building at the D-1 level, 80 staff at the local level and 4 United Nations Volunteers.

4. The Advisory Committee recalls that under operative paragraphs 1 and 2 of draft resolution A/53/L.57, the General Assembly would renew the participation of the United Nations in MICIVIH, and the mandate of the United Nations component of the Mission would be extended until 31 December 1999.
٤ - وتشير اللجنة الاستشارية إلى أن الجمعية العامة ستجدد، بموجب الفقرتين ١ و ٢ من منطوق مشروع القرار A/53/L.57، مشاركة اﻷمم المتحدة في البعثة المدنية الدولية في هايتي، وستمدد ولاية عنصر اﻷمم المتحدة في البعثة إلى ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٩.

27. Although Mexico was not a sponsor of draft resolution A/50/L.67, it firmly supported the renewal of the mandate of the United Nations component of MICIVIH with the goal of consolidating Haitian institutional reconstruction.
٧٢ - وقال إنه رغم أن المكسيك لم تكن مقدمة لمشروع القرار A/50/L.67 إلا أنها تؤيد بشدة تمديد ولاية العنصر التابع لﻷمم المتحدة في البعثة المدنية الدولية في هايتي بهدف تعزيز إعادة بناء المؤسسات في هايتي.

In the same resolution, the Assembly also decided to authorize the extension of the mandate of the United Nations component of the Mission until 7 February 1996, according to the terms of reference and modalities under which the Mission was operating.

As set out in paragraph 7 of the statement, the proposed staffing for the United Nations component of the mission includes one post at the Under-Secretary-General level for the Special Envoy and one post at the Assistant Secretary-General level for the Executive Director, the related costs to be shared by the United Nations and OAS.
