It was in that connection that Algeria, through its Ambassador to the United Nations (Vienna), chaired the Working Group on the Definition and Delimitation of Outer Space in 2003.

At the fifty-second session of the Legal Subcommittee of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, in 2013, the Working Group on the Definition and Delimitation of Outer Space agreed to continue to invite Member States of the United Nations and permanent observers of the Committee to provide their replies to the following questions (A/AC.105/1045, annex II, para. 8 (c)):
١- في الدورة الثانية والخمسين للجنة الفرعية القانونية التابعة للجنة استخدام الفضاء الخارجي في الأغراض السلمية، المعقودة في عام 2013، اتفق الفريق العامل المعني بتعريف الفضاء الخارجي وتعيين حدوده على مواصلة دعوة الدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة والمراقبين الدائمين لدى اللجنة إلى تقديم ردودهم على الأسئلة التالية (A/AC.105/1045، المرفق الثاني، الفقرة 8 (ج)):

Some delegations expressed the view that the Working Group on the Definition and Delimitation of Outer Space should undertake a review of the term " space activities " with the objective of building a consensus, even a preliminary one, while temporarily putting aside the task of defining and delimiting outer space in order to concentrate on defining space activities, which is one of the subjects of regulation by space law.
234- وأعرب بعض الوفود عن رأي مفاده أنه ينبغي للفريق العامل المعني بتعريف الفضاء الخارجي وتعيين حدوده أن يراجع تعريف عبارة " الأنشطة الفضائية " بهدف التوصل إلى توافق في الآراء، وإنْ كان توافقاً أوليًّا، مع صرف النظر مؤقتاً عن مهمة تعريف الفضاء الخارجي وتعيين حدوده، من أجل التركيز على هذا التعريف، وهو أحد المواضيع التي ينظِّمها قانون الفضاء.
