The Committee requested the Secretariat to submit a report on all bodies that had a general waiver to meet away from their established headquarters, thus constituting a departure from General Assembly resolution 40/243, to be reviewed by the Committee during the main part of the fifty-first session of the General Assembly.

In the case of subsidiary bodies without a specific exception, authorization to meet away from their established headquarters should be granted on the basis of a recommendation by the Committee on Conferences.
أما بالنسبة للهيئات الفرعية التي لم تمنح استثناء محددا، فينبغي أن يكون منحها إذنا بالاجتماع خارج مقارها الدائمة مستندا إلى توصية من لجنة المؤتمرات.

Also at its 391st meeting, clarification was sought and received from the Secretariat regarding various items and aspects of the draft revised calendar of conferences and meetings for 1997, including the matter of waivers granted to intergovernmental bodies that request to meet away from their established headquarters, thus constituting a departure from General Assembly resolution 40/243.

8. Invites all its subsidiary bodies that are authorized to meet away from their established headquarters to review, in the interest of improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness, the exception to the headquarters rule in the light of the current situation of their work, and to make recommendations thereon, through the Committee on Conferences, to the General Assembly at its fifty-second session;
٨ - تدعـو جميـع هيئاتها الفرعية المأذون لها بالاجتماع خارج مقارها الدائمة أن تستعرض، لغرض تحسين الكفاءة والفعالية من حيث التكلفة، الاستثناء من قاعدة المقر في ضوء الحالة الراهنة لعملها، وأن تقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثانية والخمسين، عن طريق لجنة المؤتمرات توصيات في هذا الصدد؛

The view was expressed that, for financial reasons and in the interest of improved efficiency and effectiveness, subsidiary bodies that had been granted an exception to meet away from their established headquarters should be invited to review their need for the exception in the light of the current situation of their work.
٦١ - وأعرب عن رأي مفاده أنه ﻷسباب مالية ولتحسين الكفاءة والفعالية، ينبغي دعوة الهيئات الفرعية التي كانت تمنح استثناء للاجتماع خارج مقارها الدائمة ﻹعادة النظر في حاجتها لﻹستثناء في ضوء الحالة الراهنة لعملها.
