In a 2005 report to the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee on the steps taken to implement Security Council resolution 1373 (2001), the Government indicated that under section 8 (k) of the Immigration Act, " a prohibited immigrant person " includes a person suspected of terrorist activity based on information received by the Controller of Immigration from a reliable source or from another State through official or diplomatic channels.
