67. Mr. Yáñez-Barnuevo (Observer for Spain) said that the information the Chairman had provided on the procedures and criteria for the cessation of transmission of information under article 73 (e) of the Charter was of the utmost importance.

In 1948, the General Assembly had adopted resolution 222 (III) on the cessation of the transmission of information under article 73 (e) of the Charter, according to which administering Powers should communicate to the Secretary-General, within a maximum period of six months, information on the political relationship between the Territory and the administering Power.
