The mandate of the African Union, a regional body charged with maintaining peace and security, is in harmony with the Charter of the United Nations and the role set out in Chapter VII thereof for regional arrangements and agencies. That mandate is also in keeping with the substance of the Constitutive Act of the African Union.
1 - تنسجم ولاية الاتحاد الأفريفي كمظمة إقليمية في صيانة السلم والأمن الإقليمي مع ما ينص عليه ويدعو له ميثاق الأمم المتحدة وما يوليه من دور للمنظمات والترتيبات الإقليمية بموجب الفصل السابع من الميثاق وما ينص عليه ويدعو إليه القانون التأسيسي للاتحاد الأفريقي.

By virtue of presidential decree No. 97-125 of 26 April 1997, Algeria, which has ratified the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction, set up a national authority for the implementation of the Convention in accordance with article VII thereof.
لقد صدقت الجزائر على اتفاقية حظر الأسلحة الكيميائية، وأنشأت بموجب المرسوم الرئاسي رقم 97-125 المؤرخ 26 نيسان/أبريل 1997 هيئة وطنية تعنى بتنفيذ هذه الاتفاقية وفقا للمادة السابعة منها.

As for the mandate of the international force, the Government of the Republic of Zaire believes that it should be not only humanitarian but also political - and that it must be supported militarily, if necessary - in order to cover all aspects of the problem and ensure respect for the relevant provisions of the Charter of the Organization of African Unity and the Charter of the United Nations, particularly Chapter VII thereof.
٤ - فيما يتعلق بولاية القوة المتعددة الجنسيات ترى حكومة جمهورية زائير أنه لا ينبغي أن تكون ذات طابع إنساني، فقط بل أن تكون سياسية الطابع أيضا وأن تحظى بدعم عسكري، إذا لزم اﻷمر، لتغطية جميع جوانب المشكلة والعمل على احترام اﻷحكام ذات الصلة من ميثاق منظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية وميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وبخاصة الفصل السابع من الميثاق.
