Mr. PEREZ-OTERMIN (Uruguay) said that his delegation had abstained from voting on draft resolutions A/C.4/50/L.18, L.20 and L.21 because the texts did not reflect the positive results of the peace process in the Middle East, especially the agreements signed in Washington in 1993 and the Implementation Agreement on the Gaza Strip and the Jericho Area of 1994 and the Interim Agreement on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in 1995.
