The Committee, while welcoming the ratification of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the involvement of children in armed conflict, is seriously concerned over the grave consequences the internal armed conflict has on children in Colombia, causing them serious physical and mental injury and denying them the enjoyment of their most basic rights.
103- بينما ترحب اللجنة بتصديق الدولة الطرف على البروتوكول الاختياري لاتفاقية حقوق الطفل المتعلق بإشراك الأطفال في النـزاعات المسلحة، تعرب عن بالغ القلق إزاء ما يترتب على النـزاع المسلح الداخلي من آثار خطرة على الأطفال في كولومبيا، حيث يسبب لهم أضراراً جسدية ونفسية خطرة ويحرمهم من التمتع بحقوقهم الأساسية.

While welcoming the ratification of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Convention on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Women and Children for Prostitution in July 2002, the Committee remains concerned about the continuing prevalence of trafficking in women and girls in the country.
