8. Calls upon all Governments to take appropriate effective legislative, administrative, judicial or other measures to prevent and prohibit the production, trade, export and use of equipment which is specifically designed to inflict torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment;

Committee members were particularly interested in the study submitted by the Special Rapporteur to the Commission on the situation of trade in and production of equipment which is specifically designed to inflict torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, its origin, destination and forms (E/CN.4/2003/69).

"

Also in resolution 2001/62, the Commission requested the Special Rapporteur to study the situation of trade and production in equipment, which is specifically designed to inflict torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, its origin, destination and forms, with a view to finding the best ways to prohibit such trade and production and to combat its proliferation, and to report thereon to the Commission.
كما رجت اللجنة في قرارها 2001/62 من المقرر الخاص أن يبحث حالة تجارة وإنتاج المعدات المصممة خصيصاً لإنزال التعذيب أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة وأصلها والجهات الموجهة إليها وأشكالها بغية الاهتداء إلى أفضل السبل لحظر هذه التجارة وهـذا النوع من الإنتاج ولمكافحة تفشيها وتقديم تقرر عن ذلك إلى اللجنة.

25. On 23 and 24 April, as a follow-up to his predecessor's study on the situation of trade in and production of equipment which is specifically designed to inflict torture (see E/CN.4/2005/62), the Special Rapporteur participated in an international expert meeting to review and further develop national, regional and international controls on the transfer of security equipment used for torture.
25 - وفي يومي 23 و 24 نيسان/أبريل، وكمتابعة لدراسة أعدها أسلافه عن حالة التجارة بمعدات مصممة خصيصا لممارسة التعذيب وإنتاجها (E/CN.4/2005/62)، شارك المقرر الخاص في اجتماع خبراء دولي لاستعراض ومواصلة وضع ضوابط وطنية وإقليمية ودولية على نقل المعدات الأمنية التي تستخدم للتعذيب.
