In order to minimize the Impact of the capital master plan on meeting management, the Secretariat has made alternative arrangements for programmed meetings and has limited the scheduling of additional new meetings.

In its resolution 61/236, the General Assembly requested the Committee to keep the matter of the Impact of the capital master plan on meetings under constant review, and asked the Secretary-General to report regularly to the Committee on matters pertaining to the calendar of conferences and meetings of the United Nations during the construction period.

In section II.B, paragraph 3, of its resolution 63/248, the General Assembly requested the Committee on Conferences to keep under constant review the Impact of the capital master plan on meetings held at Headquarters during its implementation, and requested the Secretary-General to report regularly to the Committee on matters pertaining to the calendar of conferences and meetings of the United Nations during the construction period.

7. Section II B of the draft resolution dealt with the Impact of the capital master plan on meetings held at Headquarters during its implementation and bodies meeting there were requested to take into consideration the limitations and inflexibility of conference facilities during the renovations and to liaise closely with the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management when scheduling meetings.
