A preliminary report on the status of the implementation of the resolution, bearing in mind the recommendations of the Office of Internal Oversight Services as contained in its report (resolution 61/279);

1. Decides to renew the mandate of the United Nations Supervision Mission in the Syrian Arab Republic for a final period of thirty days, taking into consideration the recommendations of the SecretaryGeneral to reconfigure the Mission, and taking into consideration the operational implications of the increasingly dangerous security situation in the Syrian Arab Republic;

2. Requests the Secretary-General to submit to it, for consideration at an early stage during its fifty-fourth session, a comprehensive report, taking into account the recommendations of the Office of Internal Oversight Services and the views expressed by Member States on the issue of arbitration, which should, inter alia, cover:

In paragraph 66 of the resolution, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit, during the second part of its resumed sixty-second session, a preliminary report on the status of the implementation of the resolution, taking into consideration the recommendations of the Office of Internal Oversight Services to strengthen the management structures of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (A/61/743).
