CEDAW urged Turkmenistan to make the necessary amendments in the Labour Code and Presidential Decree No.10732 and to put in place a comprehensive strategy to eliminate the patriarchal attitudes and deep-rooted stereotypes regarding the roles of women and men.

21. The Committee encourages the State party to adopt a comprehensive strategy to promote cultural change and eliminate discriminatory stereotypes with respect to the roles of women and men in all levels of society, in line with its obligations under articles 2(f) and 5(a) of the Convention.
21 - وتشجع اللجنة الدولة الطرف على اعتماد استراتيجية شاملة للتشجيع على التغير الثقافي والقضاء على القوالب النمطية التمييزية إزاء أدوار النساء والرجال على جميع مستويات المجتمع، تمشيا مع التزامها بموجب الفقرتين 2 (و) و 5 (أ) من الاتفاقية.
