The main activities are held during the spring session of the Disarmament Commission and in the autumn, during Disarmament Week.

Disarmament Week has been celebrated annually since its establishment by resolutions of the first United Nations special session on disarmament and of the General Assembly in 1978.
إن أسبوع نزع السلاح يجري الاحتفال به سنويا منذ أن أعلنته قرارات صادرة عن الدورة الاستثنائية اﻷولى للجمعية العامة المكرسة لنزع السلاح وعن الجمعية العامة في عام ٨٧٩١.

" 4. Invites Governments and international and national non-governmental organizations to continue to take an active part in Disarmament Week and to inform the Secretary-General of the activities undertaken;

The disarmament exhibit is currently undergoing a major renovation, due for completion by Disarmament Week, to be observed in October 2000.
وتجري حاليا عملية تحديث رئيسية للعرض المتعلق بنزع السلاح، ويتوقع إنهاؤها خلال أسبوع نزع السلاح الذي سيحتفل به في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2000.
