2 - يهيب بالدول المهتمة بأمن الأنشطة البحرية أن تشارك بنشاط في مكافحة أعمال القرصنة في أعالي البحار قبالة سواحل الصومال، عن طريق القيام على وجه الخصوص بنشر سفن بحرية وطائرات عسكرية، وفقا للقانون الدولي، على النحو المبين في " الاتفاقية " ؛

The current draft resolution authorizes Member States " acting nationally " to inspect vessels " on the high seas off the coast of Somalia extending to and including the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf " (operative paragraph 15).

The present report is submitted pursuant to operative paragraph 17 of Security Council resolution 1846 (2008) of 2 December 2008, in which the Council requested me to report on the implementation of that resolution and on the situation with respect to piracy and armed robbery in territorial waters and the high seas off the coast of Somalia.
