The President also informed members that States members of specialized agencies of the United Nations that were not members of the United Nations, namely Cook Islands, the Holy See, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Switzerland, Tonga and Tuvalu, had been invited to participate in the work of the special session in the capacity of observers.
وأبلغ الرئيس أيضا اﻷعضاء بأن الدول اﻷعضاء في الوكالات المتخصصة التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة، وليست أعضاء في اﻷمم المتحدة، أي توفالو، وتونغا، وجزر كوك، وسويسرا، والكرسي الرسولي، وكيريباتي، وناورو، ونيوي، قد دعيت للمشاركة بصفة مراقب في أعمال الدورة الاستثنائية.

واعتُمد الموقف اﻷفريقي المشترك بشأن المخدرات في الدورة الحادية والعشرين للجنة العمل والشؤون الاجتماعية التابعة لمنظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية، وتم تأكيده في الدورة الثامنة والستين لمجلس وزراء المنظمة وكان بمثابة مبدأ توجيهي يمثل موقف أفريقيا خلال أعمال الدورة الاستثنائية.

The Commission on the Status of Women's 15year review of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and the outcomes of the twenty-third special session of the General Assembly, and the Economic and Social Council's annual ministerial review identified further actions to accelerate progress towards gender equality and the empowerment of women.
وحدد استعراض لجنة وضع المرأة لتنفيذ منهاج عمل بيجين بعد مضي 15 عاما على صدوره ونتائج أعمال الدورة الاستثنائية الثالثة والعشرين للجمعية العامة، والاجتماع الوزاري السنوي للمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، المزيد من الإجراءات لتسريع التقدم نحو تحقيق المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين المرأة.
