51. ECA convened, in Addis Ababa on 14 and 15 November 2012, the thirteenth session of the Regional Coordination Mechanism of United Nations agencies and organizations working in Africa in support of the African Union and its New Partnership for Africa's Development programme.

The findings and recommendations of the independent expert were subsequently discussed at the eleventh session of the Regional Coordination Mechanism of United Nations agencies and organizations working in Africa in support of the African Union and its New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) programme, held in Addis Ababa from 14 to 15 November 2010.

In implementing the subprogramme, ECA will work closely with other United Nations bodies at the global, regional and subregional levels, in particular with the Office of the Special Adviser on Africa, the Department of Public Information, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and the regional directors teams, within the context of the Regional Coordination Mechanism in Africa in support of the African Union and its NEPAD programme.
