(b) Such programmes opened a door for developing countries and countries with limited resources to participate in space activities, enabling them to establish basic capacities for the development of space technology, tailored to their needs.
(ب) فتحت تلك البرامج المجال أمام البلدان النامية والبلدان ذات الموارد المحدودة كي تشارك في الأنشطة الفضائية، بما يمكِّنها من تأسيس القدرات الأساسية من أجل تطوير تكنولوجيا الفضاء التي تتماشى مع احتياجاتها.

The process of globalization created formidable challenges for developing countries and countries with economies in transition. Globalization must not divide the world even further into rich and poor. Unless it benefited all countries, it would not be sustainable.
٣٢ - وأردف قائلا إن عملية العولمة توجِد تحديات هائلة أمام البلدان النامية والبلدان التي يمر اقتصادها بمرحلة انتقالية ، وإنه يجب ألا تزيد العولمة من تقسيم العالـم إلى أثرياء وفقراء ، فلن تكون مستدامة ما لم تعد بفائدة على جميع البلدان .

(b) To further examine policy options for developing countries and countries with economies in transition to strengthen their enterprise sector so that they may gain more benefit from foreign investments;
(ب) ومواصلة النظر في خيارات السياسات المتاحة أمام البلدان النامية والبلدان التي تمر اقتصاداتها بمرحلة انتقالية من أجل تنمية قطاع المشاريع فيها حتى يتسنى لها الاستفادة بشكل أكبر من الاستثمارات الأجنبية؛

(i) To work to identify the barriers to access to financing, in particular for developing countries and countries with economies in transition, to suggest ways to simplify relevant procedures and build the capacity of countries to remove them and to examine the effects, impact and synergies of cross-sectoral and cross-institutional activities on forest financing;
(ط) العمل على تحديد العوائق التي تعترض الوصول إلى التمويل، ولا سيما الماثلة منها أمام البلدان النامية والبلدان التي تمر اقتصاداتها بمرحلة انتقالية، واقتراح سبل لتبسيط الإجراءات المتصلة بذلك وبناء قدرة البلدان على إزالة تلك العوائق، ودراسة آثار وتأثيرات الأنشطة الشاملة لعدة قطاعات ومؤسسات على تمويل الغابات وتفاعلاتها؛

56. The Secretary-General’s proposal aims to strengthen the capacity of the subprogramme to evaluate the development impact of foreign direct investment, provide policy advice to countries in need of it, examine policy options for developing countries and countries with economies in transition, conduct case studies and provide country-specific assistance.

126. The Secretariat has considered a number of other issues in exploring ways to further increase procurement opportunities for developing countries and countries with economies in transition, some of which could be considered contrary to the principles of United Nations procurement as stipulated in the United Nations Financial Regulations and Rules and the Procurement Manual.

The Secretary-General's proposal aims to strengthen the capacity of the subprogramme to evaluate the development impact of foreign direct investment, provide policy advice to countries in need, examine policy options for developing countries and countries with economies in transition, to conduct case studies and provide country-specific assistance.

28D.17 The Procurement Division is responsible for the implementation of an updated and improved governance structure of the United Nations Secretariat procurement function; the procurement of goods and services for the Organization's activities; continued exploration of ways to increase business opportunities for developing countries and countries with economies in transition; and the expansion of the vendor registration programme.

The report on this item (TD/B/WG.8/6) analyses the trading opportunities with respect to three " contingency protection " agreements of the Uruguay Round, i.e. on safeguards, on anti-dumping practices and on subsidies and countervailing measures, to see to what extent these agreements and the national implementing legislation of the major trading nations present new trading opportunities for developing countries and countries in transition.
